Kevin came home with a little present for me. Onenote2007 - a Microsoft program that was given to the college of engineering as a gift.
In the past I have had a notebook for everything. One to record my garden successes/failures every year, one to record quotes, one to write my findings during scripture study, one to jot down what to buy at the grocery store. I even have a small notebook to write down books I want to get around to reading.
The downfall to all my lists is I have a lot of notebooks lying around the house. Not anymore. This program is amazing! I love it. It is a virtual notebook that is saved to my desk top. It even looks like a real spiral bound notebook. I can customize tabs and write anywhere on a given page. One of my favorite features is I can copy and paste from the internet onto a page. Microsoft Word it terrible for copying and pasting from the internet. But this program is really user friendly.
Now I have a virtual notebook for recipes. One of the tabs is "recipes to try". I can copy and paste a recipe onto the page. Later I can click on the recipe and it will take me back to the original source from where I copied it from.
I have a virtual notebook for the Relief Society lessons I teach. I can copy and paste from LDS.org and then write little notes or thoughts next to the copied text. When I write these notes they show up in any color I choose and in any font I want. I can write anywhere or on top of text.
I am so excited about transferring all of my notebooks onto virtual notebooks.
I have a notebook for shopping. I keep a list of all the sites I like to shop at. I can also copy and paste items I am comparing prices for. When I am ready to buy I just click on the item and it will bring me to the site to buy.
I do my grocery list in this notebook, too. I divided my list into sections that make it easy for me to navigate my way around the store. Dairy, Grocery, Baby, Meat, Produce....you get it. Then, when I am ready to shop, I just click print!
I can also take all my notebooks and put them in a virtual binder. Neat hu?!
I was so excited I just had to share!

Where do I get one and does it work on a Mac?!!!!!!! Sounds like we need a little Show and Tell date Ruby!
You are so cute Ruby. You have probably become one of the most organized people I know. I bet you keep a notepad and pen on your night stand...
I want it! Ruby you are just amazing. Thanks for sharing all your ideas.
Sounds dreamy! I think I could really use something like that. I have notes and lists for everything. Great way to get them all organized. Have you ever checked out the Goodreads website? It's a great way to keep track of books you have/want/read etc. and you can leave comments on books and see what your friends are reading.
OH, RUBY!!!! that sounds AMAZING, But I think you might be tooooo organized! Your making some of us look very bad hehe! I love it! you need to start coming into people's homes and showing them how you do it! Like "the nanny" meets mary poppins and martha stewart! Keep up the wonderful work!!
